11 students from the Middle School accompanied by a Faculty Member undertook an exciting trip to the Skiing Carnival held in Almaty Kazakhstan from 21st March to 27th of March.

It was an exciting and new experience for the Students to see people skiing on every slope and an amazing sight of Gondolas and Skiing lifts everywhere. The Instructors from Shymbulak Skiing School gave the students instructions right from Level 1 Basic in which they were taught how to stand straight on their Skis, to maintaining the balance and ski downhill, applying breaks by making a snow plough with their legs.

By the 4th day, the students got a hold on the Skiing techniques and the instructors felt confident to let them steer ourselves on their own on the skis. When they reached Level 2 Intermediate Slope they had already got a hang of how to balance their bodies and how to ski down making a snake path while controlling speed with snow plough.

By the 6th day they were skiing with good speeds and control on the Intermediate slopes and Level 3 Advanced Slopes. The students got to test themselves in the Skiing Competition held on the last day. Daksh Tuteja came 1st, followed by Arnav Singhal who came 2nd and Parth Goel who came 3rd.

All the students were qualified as skier and were awarded certificates by the Shymbulak Skiing School. The students also enjoyed the local cuisine along with some international cuisines during their stay at the Resort as well as while shopping.

A very memorable trip for the students who can't wait to visit Almaty again next year!
