EAMUNC (E. Ahmad Model United Nations) Pathways World School, Gurgaon

A team of 6 students from MYP 4 & 5 participated in the 6th Edition of E. Ahamad Model United Nations, hosted by Indian School, Al Ghubra, Oman, from 10th to 12th September 2021. Approximately 350 delegates from 32 schools in 5 countries across 3 continents participated in this virtual MUN.
The Opening Ceremony had a message from the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, who focused on the SDGs as “a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.”
The high quality of deliberations kept the participants engaged throughout this event. Two students of PWS were recognized with ‘Verbal Mention’. Ashhwika Soni of MYP4 was the delegate of Armenia and received the ‘Verbal Mention’ in the UNHRC committee. She discussed the importance of proper distribution of vaccines for COVID 19 in relation to the demographics.
Ananya Karnik of MYP5 received the ‘Verbal Mention’ in the UNEP committee, in which she reviewed the 2030 agenda, especially the environmental dimension.
Overall, the students were thoroughly engaged, and we are proud of our students’ achievements!
