THE MYP CORE
PERSONAL PROJECT AND INTERDISCIPLINARY LEARNING

The Personal Project is the culminating achievement of the Middle Year Programme. It challenges students to produce a truly self-directed piece of work, demonstrating the skills they have developed over the five-year program.

48% Students
SCORED 6+ POINTS IN PERSONAL PROJECT

Nearly half of our cohort scored 6 and above in their Personal Projects, which is rigorously assessed and externally moderated by the IB. These projects ranged from designing sustainable water filtration systems to the coding educational apps.

SCORED 6+ POINTS IN IDU

Interdisciplinary Units (IDUs) enable students to integrate knowledge from multiple subject groups to investigate authentic, real-world challenges. This collaborative approach fosters critical thinking, deeper conceptual understanding, and meaningful connections across disciplines.

PERFECT 7S AWARDED TO THE CLASS
OF 2026

A grade of 7 is the highest possible outcome on any IB MYP subject assessment. Certificate holders earned a total of 154 perfect 7s across the eight subject groups of the Middle Years Programme, drawn from 842 individual subject entries. A further 320 entries were graded 6, placing 56.2% of the awarded cohort’s work in the top two bands. Visual Arts led the school at 6.86 against a world average of 4.67, followed by History at 6.17 and Dance at 6.12.

THE NEXT STEP
TRANSITIONING TO THE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

The MYP provides an unparalleled foundation for the rigorous IB Diploma Programme (Grade 11 & 12). Our students enter the DP already equipped with the research methodologies, critical thinking abilities, and self-management skills required for success.

Subject Preparedness

MYP eAssessments ensure students have deeply explored the 8 subject groups, allowing them to make informed, confident choices when selecting their 6 DP subjects and distinguishing between Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).

Extended Essay Readiness

The 4000-word DP Extended Essay can be daunting for students from traditional boards. However, for MYP graduates who have already completed the rigorous Personal Projects, it is a natural progression.

Action to CAS

The MYP's 'Service as Action' requirement perfectly bridges into the DP's 'Creativity, Activity, Services' (CAS) core component, meaning our students are already accustomed to contributing meaningfully to their community.

FAQS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

An IB MYP result is reported on a scale of 1 to 7 for each subject, with 7 being the highest grade. Students are assessed across six subject groups and the MYP Core, comprising the Personal Project (PP) and Interdisciplinary Unit (IDU).

The 1-7 scale is criterion-based: each grade reflects a defined standard of achievement rather than a ranking against classmates, so results are comparable across schools and years.

The Personal Project is a self-directed piece of work concluding the MYP, externally moderated by the IB. It demonstrates the research, self-management and communication skills students have built over the programme.

A strong score reflects sustained academic depth, independent thinking and consistent effort across all subject groups, not performance in a single assessment.

The MYP builds the research methodologies, critical thinking and self-management skills the Diploma Programme requires, easing the transition into DP subjects, the Extended Essay and CAS.
