The day began with a refreshing dip in the sparkling pool. Campers eagerly donned their swimsuits and dove into the cool water, their laughter echoing under the clear blue sky. Water games were the highlight of the morning.
The younger campers started their day in the Design Technology workshop, where an array of paints and sketching tools awaited them. Each student received a plain wooden mobile holder, ready to be transformed into a unique piece of art. With brushes in hand, they skillfully painted and sketched their designs, pouring their personalities into every stroke. From vibrant abstracts to intricate patterns, the mobile holders soon blossomed into colorful masterpieces. After the painting phase, the campers eagerly assembled their creations, fitting the pieces together with newfound precision and pride.
Meanwhile, the older group tackled more complex projects. Their task was to assemble lamps and clocks, adding holders, fixing lamp parts, and starting the polishing process. The workshop buzzed with activity as they meticulously painted their clocks, ensuring each one was a unique reflection of its creator's style. Once the paint dried, they added the machinery and attached the clock needles, transforming simple components into functional art pieces. The assembly process demanded attention to detail and technical skill, which the campers displayed in abundance, making their creations shine—literally and figuratively.
In Theatre, students experienced the magic of stage dynamics. With the technical assistance of sound and light experts, they explored the intricacies of performance from a new perspective. The campers learned how lighting can set the mood and how sound enhances the storytelling experience. They practiced moving confidently across the stage, ensuring their presence commanded attention. This session was more than just rehearsal; it was an exploration of the elements that make theatre a compelling art form. By the end of the day, the students had a deeper appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that brings a performance to life.
The Art studio was a hive of activity as students continued working on their casting compositions by combining mediums. Today’s focus was on developing their aesthetic and technical knowledge of fresco painting, an ancient technique that requires skill and patience. The campers experimented with various mediums, layering and blending to create textured, vibrant pieces. They delved into the history of fresco, learning how artists from centuries past used this method to bring walls to life. Each brushstroke was a step back in time, connecting the campers to a rich artistic heritage.
As night fell, the campers gathered for a relaxing end to their bustling day. A movie night awaited, where students had the freedom to choose their films. The movie provided a perfect backdrop for winding down, allowing campers to bond over shared stories and favourite scenes.
