Today marked another thrilling day of trekking and cycling adventures. Campers reveled in exploring new trails, honing their cycling skills, and immersing themselves in the beautiful surroundings while challenging themselves physically.
In the artistic expressions session, students delved into the captivating world of printmaking. They learned various monocolour techniques and were introduced to the intricate processes of linocut and woodcut printing. Additionally, they experimented with live object expressions, using real-life objects to create unique prints. The day was brimming with creativity and discovery, leaving the students inspired and eager for more.
During the dance session, students began learning a jazz dance routine. They also explored movement through dance improvisation exercises, allowing them to express themselves freely and develop their own unique styles. The combination of structured routines and improvisation made for a dynamic and engaging experience.
In music, the older group successfully downloaded MuseScore on Mac/Windows devices. They learned the fundamentals of note values up to semiquavers and participated in a rhythm activity, clapping prescribed note values. Meanwhile, the younger students were introduced to the elements of music and familiarized themselves with note values up to quavers.
In the robotics session, students learned the basics of coding using microcontrollers. They programmed the micro to display a heart and their names, which helped them grasp fundamental coding concepts. To further enhance their understanding, they engaged in a dice simulation activity, making the learning process both interactive and enjoyable.
Theatre was another energetic activity enjoyed by all. Group 1 students explored the artistry of hand gestures and their pivotal role in theatrical expression while also examining the dynamic interplay of action and reaction. With creativity, they crafted short narratives through their hand gestures, delivering captivating presentations. Group 2 students embraced the challenge of constructing scenes inspired by thought-provoking prompts, harnessing the power of voice modulation and physical expression in their scenarios.
