‘Writing in a diary is a really strange experience for someone like me. Not only because I've never written anything before, but also because it seems to me that later on neither I nor anyone else will be interested in the musings of a thirteen-year-old schoolgirl. Oh well, it doesn't matter. I feel like writing.’ - Anne Frank, June 20, 1942

Little did she know that her life and writing would become one of the greatest holocaust stories ever told and would be read by millions for years to come. Keeping the tradition going, Students of Grade 4 and 5 put together a special event, The Anne Frank Exhibition, on the 6th of July 2020.

The students diligently invested the summer break in the Anne Frank Project. They collaborated, discussed ideas, and reflected on important events of the past to advocate justice, courage and equality. Students researched about various aspects of Anne Frank’s life and had the opportunity to interact with their peers through zoom sessions, researched as a team and shared their insights.

The Exhibition was showcased for a variety of audience ranging from parents, peers and educators to delegates from The Anne Frank House. The students were fortunate to share their learning with Ms. Louis Singels, Ms. Priya Machado (Taskforce India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Educational Projects, Anne Frank House, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and Ms. Megha Malhotra Director, Peaceworks (a partner of the Anne Frank House in India).

Through this exhibition, students were able to connect Anne Frank's life story with the current crisis and how the power of resilience, optimism, and hope, enables us to do good for others as well as for ourselves
