Jaden Rahman Pariat of MYP 3, from Pathways World School, Aravali, joined the Indian National Karting Championship as a Rookie entry on the 6th of October 2020. Having been trained for a short 7 days at the hands of the experienced Mr. Akash Gowda (Asian Formula 3 Champion 2018), Jaden successfully completed his Rotax Kart training program, thus qualifying to receive his racing license for Karting on the 15th of October.
This year, a total of 25 drivers took part in the Meco FMSCI National Karting Championship 2020. The Meco FMSCI National Karting Championship 2020 is divided into 5 rounds, with each round consisting of 4 races. For each race, points are awarded to drivers finishing in the top eight, while the top three drivers are awarded trophies based on the total points in the 4 races. The first round of the championship was held in Bangalore, Karnataka on the 16th and 17th of October 2020.
Driving for the Msport Racing Team, Jaden successfully qualified 3rd for the first round of the championship, beating many experienced drivers, some of whom have raced in Asia and Europe. Despite his lack of experience, Jaden fought off a competitive field of drivers in his first-ever race and finished the first race of the season at commendable 3rd position. In the second race, Jaden finished 4th, after being hit in the rear by another kart, while in the third, Jaden was again 4th after a spin in corner 2. In the final race of round one, Jaden recouped himself and brilliantly drove a tough race to finish 3rd.
Jaden’s achievement of a place on the podium in the first round of the championship, is a first by an Indian Rookie driver in the FMSCI National Karting Championship, and Pathways World School is extremely proud of this significant achievement. The 2nd to 5th rounds of the Meco FMSCI National Karting Championship are to be held in Bangalore in October and November 2020.
