Action by Grade 5 Students

We must become the change we want to see in the World – Mahatma Gandhi

In conjunction with the ongoing unit 'Culture' and a zeal to bring about a change, Students of Grade 5C not only identified and demonstrated an understanding of Hunger as one of the burning issues across the Globe, they also took initiative to spread awareness amongst the School Community. Initiated by Monik Yadav and led jointly by Rohan Pareek and Prithvi Pandey the class organised a Zero Food Wastage Signature Campaign in the School Cafeteria during the lunch hour.

The Students spoke about how children in certain parts of the world barely manage a single meal and as a result live a malnourished life. They encouraged the students to sign the campaign and pledge for zero wastage of food. On the very first day of the Campaign the Students were successful in reducing the food wastage by 30 percent.
