Students and Teachers of the Primary School marked Janmashtami on 4th of September through a Special Assembly. The atrium was decorated with beautiful flowers and a cradle for baby Krishna. The festival which marks the birth of Lord Krishna, who according to Hindu mythology is the eighth Avatar of Vishnu.
The festival is celebrated with piety and celebrations across India. The Students from Early Years to Grade 5 put up dances, songs and skits to mark the occasion. The Students and the Didis also presented devotional songs.
Students beautifully captured moments of Krishna's childhood and presented it through a skit. Students of Early Years and Grade 1 came dressed up as little Gopis and Gwalas, thus adding colour to the festivities. The celebrations ended with everyone taking turns to swing the cradle of Baby Krishna.
The students and teachers relished the butter milk served to mark the occasion.
