REM MUN - Funds Raise for Covid-19 relief Pathways World School, Gurgaon
An independent e-MUN was hosted on the 30th and 31st of May to raise funds for Covid-19 relief.
Through delegate registrations of more than 150 participants from around the country and also USA, and contributions from the secretariat and our chief guests, REMMUN was able to raise INR 50,000- which was equally divided between the Rahat Covid Initiative by Goonj and the Ubuntu Fundraiser by Me and Youth (an organization founded by a fellow Pathwaysian).
Both initiatives were our goodwill partners, and are currently working on providing food, clothing, sanitary napkins, and other hygienic products to the underprivileged, including to families in Badshahpur.
The conference featured 9 committees, including an International Press Corps, that discussed agendas including the continuity of education in these times, the fragility of the South American economy, and the presence of violent non-state actors in the Indian Subcontinent.
Our secretariat and executive board consisted of experienced students from around the country- and from the United States! We were delighted with the level of discussion, especially considering that we hosted the entire conference via Zoom.
We were extremely privileged to host two illustrious chief guests for our opening and closing ceremonies- Dr Ricky Kej and Mr Will Poulter respectively. Grammy® Award Winner & US Billboard #1 artist, Ricky Kej is an internationally renowned Indian Music Composer and Environmentalist. He has performed at prestigious venues in over 30 countries, including at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and Geneva.
