How should a school thoughtfully and responsibly navigate an AI-enabled future?

At Pathways World School, our faculty and leadership came together for a focused workshop with Rita Bateson FRSA, AI education expert and Co-Founder of Eblana Learning, to begin shaping the school’s approach to Artificial Intelligence.

The workshop moved beyond exploring what AI can do to asking what it should do in an educational setting. Together, we examined opportunities and challenges around AI in teaching and learning, academic integrity, responsible use, privacy, safeguarding, assessment and the evolving role of educators.

Most importantly, the workshop was an opportunity for our faculty to collectively consider the principles that should guide AI use at Pathways—ensuring that technology enhances learning while keeping human judgement, curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and meaningful connection at the heart of education.

This collaborative process will inform the development of the Pathways World School AI Policy, establishing a thoughtful and future-ready framework for how our community engages with AI.
