From April 14th to 18th, 2025, students at Pathways World School Gurugram engaged in an extraordinary week-long Raku Ceramic Workshop led by renowned artist Ms. Monika Parsad. This ancient Japanese pottery technique brought together art, fire, and nature—transforming clay into unique creations through rapid outdoor firing.
Throughout the process, students shaped and glazed their pieces, then witnessed the dramatic firing and cooling stages using natural materials like sawdust and leaves. The result? Striking, unpredictable textures and smoky patterns that embodied the raw beauty of Raku.
This workshop offered more than just artistic skill—it fostered reflection, experimentation, and the courage to embrace imperfection. Each piece became a symbol of creativity, craftsmanship, and the powerful dance between control and chance.
Pathways World School Gurugram extends heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Parsad for guiding students through this unforgettable journey of hands-on learning and artistic exploration.
