Pathways World School, Gurgaon
On April 4th, 2025, ESS students at Pathways World School Gurgaon immersed themselves in a field-based learning experience in the Aravali Hills. Designed to complement their unit on zonation and ecological succession, the trip bridged the gap between theory and practice as students hiked 1.5 to 2 kilometers through diverse terrain.
Throughout the trip, students conducted soil profile analysis, quadrant sampling for species distribution, and soil testing to assess pH, texture, and moisture levels. These activities illuminated key ecological principles and highlighted the influence of abiotic factors on biodiversity.
Equally impactful were reflections on human impact—students observed signs of erosion, waste, and deforestation, leading to meaningful conversations around sustainability and conservation.
This experiential learning opportunity deepened scientific understanding while cultivating environmental awareness and responsibility—an inspiring reminder of the power of learning beyond the classroom.
