Energy & Resources Institute Field Trip Pathways World School, Gurgaon

On Saturday, 9th of February' 2019, Grade 9 students of Pathways World School, Gurgaon had the privilege of visiting, 'The Energy and Resources Institute' in Gwal Pahari, Gurugram.
Ensuing a short bus ride, the students were embraced by a lush, verdant site and an amicable cadre of TERI employees. Upon arrival the students were divided into two groups in order to ensure a rewarding experience for them, hence enabling all the scholars and teachers to quench their thirst for knowledge with regards to the galvanizing endeavors of the institution.
One half of the student body began their day by watching a stimulating documentary that delved into the myriad of projects adopted by TERI. While the other half was given the opportunity to take a tour of the 100-acre campus and vigilantly observe the processes that sustain the well-oiled research institute.
Be it the state-of-the-art Earth-embedded tunnel system to air condition or the innovative biomass gasifiers that power the 'Retreat building', the students were truly mesmerized by the steps taken to encourage sustainable development.
After a fruitful trip around the campus, the students had a scrumptious lunch at the site and proceeded to discuss the prospective projects that they could bring to life in PWS, Aravali.
The objective of this trip was for the students to draw comparisons between the sustainable development measures implemented at Pathways and at TERI. Thereafter, enabling them to reflect upon the unprecedented ways in which sustainable development could be promoted in the School.
