Adventure Camp - DP 1 November 3Pathways World School, Gurgaon
Day 1
On November 3rd, 2023, 85 DP 1 students, accompanied by 12 teachers, embarked on a 310-kilometer journey to Kaudiyala, taking approximately 5 hours via surface travel. The bus ride was filled with fun, music, laughter, and breathtaking sights. A delightful breakfast in Devrana, Muzzaffarnagar, added to the experience. Upon reaching their destination, the students checked into Camp "Ecoterra Solace."
In the afternoon, they trekked to the local village of Badar, visiting Rajkiya Uch Praathamik Vidyalaya. There, they interacted with students and teachers, gaining insights into their lifestyle. Engaging local students in activities like painting and language exchange was part of their CAS. The day concluded with group bonding around a bonfire and dinner. The highlight was a lively volleyball game at the campsite. The students retired for the night, embracing the unique experience of overnight camping, reminiscing about the day amidst Ecoterra Solace's serene surroundings.
Day 2
On the 4th of November 2023, the students woke up early, rejuvenated after a tiring first day. The campers began their morning with pahadi chai and cookies, followed by breakfast. Afterward, they headed for their much-awaited rafting experience. Equipped with resources and filled with excitement, everyone drove down to the starting point - Marine Drive for approximately a 16 km long rafting experience. They encountered iconic rapids like Camp Flow, Black Money, and Three Blind Mice; each camper enjoyed every minute of the experience. Exhausted but carrying unforgettable memories with them, the campers returned to the campsite for a scrumptious lunch.
After that, the students boarded their coaches and left for Ukhimath. They arrived at the Regenta Resort around 8 pm and were welcomed with hot snacks and beverages. Students were briefed by the trek professional team for their next-day trek after dinner. Following this, everyone retired to their respective rooms for a restful night before the next day of trekking that awaits them.
Day 3
On 5th November 2023, students of grade 11 started their day by boarding the coach for a scenic drive to the village of Sari to begin their trek known for the Rhododendrons in Uttarakhand. Embarking on an enchanting hike through the dense forest with abundant flora and fauna, the students arrived at the serene Deoriatal Tal by noon. They witnessed breathtaking views of several mountain peaks, including the Kedarnath main, Kedarnath Dome, Chaukhamba, Janhukut, Mandani, Satopanth, and Kharchakund.
Students were served freshly made local food towards the afternoon on the mountain. While returning, the learners actively took charge of the Clean Drive Mission, contributing to cleaning the village and the trail while practicing sensitivity towards the environment. At last, they arrived at their resort in the evening for tea and enjoyed the free time bonding with friends, which was followed by a delicious dinner at the end.
Day 4
On 6th November 2023, the students embarked on a breathtaking journey from Ukhimath to Chopta. This marked the beginning of the exciting and challenging trek to Tungnath at 2800 meters, spanning 3.5 kilometers from Chopta and winding through a picturesque forest of Oak and Rhododendron. The climax of the trek took them to the Chandrashila peak at approximately 4000 meters, spanning 1 kilometer from Tungnath, offering awe-inspiring views of Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba, set against the backdrop of panoramic valleys.
The day wrapped up with an evening bonfire, along with a very energetic DJ session. All students danced and sang to their fullest, celebrating the day's achievements and experiences. Later, the students enjoyed a delightful dinner, savoring a full day of adventure and challenges.
Day 5
On the 7th of November, students had an early breakfast and started their journey towards home. This journey was supposed to happen in two parts - Ukhimath to Haridwar and Haridwar to Gurgaon. With cherishable memories and achievements of the trek, the students began their 8-hour long journey to Haridwar where they witnessed the Ganga Aarti. Upon arriving at the Lakshaya Hotel in the evening, the campers were given time to unwind and rest. Finally, everyone gathered for a farewell dinner, expressed their gratitude towards the organizing team, and celebrated each other's achievements during the closing ceremony held by the camp leaders before the students returned to bed for a restful night. In this manner, the relaxing yet enriching day came to an end, after which the students returned to their rooms, ready to head back to Gurgaon the next day.
