Adventure Camp- MYP 2 November 6Pathways World School, Gurgaon
Day 1
The long-anticipated MYP 2 Annual Adventure Camp 2023 kicked off with our maiden voyage to the historical heart of Bharatpur. The escapade began at the crack of dawn at 5:45 a.m., with the excitement palpable in the air, setting off from the school amidst animated conversations and joyful anticipation. Our first stop was Haldirams, where we indulged in a hearty breakfast, fuelling us for the adventures ahead.
By the stroke of noon, we arrived at the stately Udai Vilas Palace in Bharatpur, our regal residence for the camp. Post a delightful lunch, our explorations commenced, leading us through the enchanting Keoladeo National Park. Here, the students were treated to an up-close experience with nature's splendour, previously known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.
We delved deeper into the past with visits to the formidable Lohagarh Fort and the informative Government Museum Bharatpur, enriching our understanding of the region's cultural heritage. The evening was a time of introspection, dedicated to the remarkable Maharaja Suraj Mal of Bharatpur, whose life and accomplishments left a lasting impression on the young minds.
Day 2
After a scrumptious breakfast, the students checked out and proceeded to Ajabgarh Fort, a site steeped in history and fascinating tales.
The students relished a scrumptious packed lunch from Udai Vilas. With satisfied appetites, it was time to continue the trip as they boarded the bus and began their journey towards the Pink City, Jaipur, a city known for its vibrant culture and majestic palaces.
Upon arrival, the students checked in at the luxurious Ramada by Wyndham. The evening was filled with cultural delight as the students enjoyed traditional folk dances, immersing themselves in the colourful and vibrant Rajasthani culture.
The students look forward to dinner, which promises to be a delightful affair. They will relish the flavours of Jaipur's cuisine, turning the meal into a culinary adventure.
With folk dance and snacks rounding out the evening's entertainment, the meal will be an experience to cherish. Following dinner, they will retire, their minds alive with the vibrant cultural impressions of the day and eagerly anticipating the enthralling activities that await them tomorrow.
Day 3
The day kicked off with an early morning breakfast at the hotel, where students enjoyed milk, Bournvita, and cookies, ensuring an energetic start to the morning. After the meal, a session of Yoga and Meditation offered a serene preparation for the day's adventures.
Creative spirits were ignited with a pottery-making activity at the hotel, an exercise in both artistry and patience. The itinerary continued with a tour of the city's historic sites, including the precise astronomical instruments of Jantar Mantar and the concealed balconies of Hawa-Mahal, which allowed royal women to observe street festivities unseen.
Lunch, both delicious and satisfying, provided the necessary fuel for the afternoon's highlight—a visit to the Amer Fort, where the grandeur of Jaipur's regal past unfolded.
