Indian High School, Dubai Virtual Meet- Literacy Day September 20Pathways World School, Gurgaon
On the 11th of September, Pathways World School participated in the Round Square symposium hosted by The Indian High School, Dubai to celebrate famous Literacy Heroes on the occasion of World Literacy Day. The symposium was a tribute to all the literacy heroes who have made a difference in the world through their contribution to literature.
4 students from MYP 1 participated in this virtual meet and created a short but insightful presentation on Roald Dahl, an author that everybody knows very well; an author that everybody loved reading in their childhood. The students talked about the life of Roald Dahl, his works and his inspirations that helped him create the wonderful books everyone loved reading.
The students were then put into baraza sessions with different schools of that created presentations on various literary heroes. After all the informative presentations, it was time to play some minigames around literacy. They were very engaging and developed the students’ excitement and encouraged them to take up reading as a hobby.
The closing ceremony marked the culmination of the event where all schools shared their learnings and reflected on the importance of reading.
