Peace Day & Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations October 5Pathways World School, Gurgaon
"If you want real peace in the world, start with children." – Mahatma Gandhi
With a strong belief in the quote above, Students of Pathways World School, continued with the annual tradition of celebrating Peace Day and Gandhi Jayanti with fervour and zest. Though the celebrations were held virtually, the enthusiasm was unanimously visible throughout the Primary School.
The celebrations started on Thursday, 1st October’ 20, where the Students from PYP 2-5 watched a video on ‘Sadaka Sasaki’ to understand the significance of International Peace Day, which is celebrated every year around the world on 21st September, while the Early Years read a story, ‘I Am Peace’. They also watched a video on ‘Gandhiji’ to reflect on the virtue of peace and non-violence. Back at home, students indulged in creating an artwork on ‘how they envisioned a peaceful world’.
To mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 151st birth anniversary on 02nd Oct, students participated in Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) ranging from distributing clothes and food to less privileged feeding dogs, etc.
Ignited minds produce dynamic actions but when laid on the foundations of peace and belongingness, they produce a world full of acceptance and diversity and our students are a true personification of the above thought.
