Empowering Art. Celebrating Artisans.
At Pathways World School, learning goes far beyond the classroom—and this week, our PYP students stepped into the vibrant world of Pattachitra, a traditional art form rich in history, storytelling, and precision. Guided by skilled artisans, students didn’t just observe the craft—they experienced it firsthand, learning the techniques, patience, and attention to detail that go into every piece.
As they worked with brushes and natural colours, students began to understand that art is more than self-expression—it’s a way of preserving culture, honouring tradition, and telling stories that have been passed down through generations. This immersive experience sparked curiosity, built fine motor skills, and encouraged students to slow down and create with intention.
Most importantly, it helped them develop a deep respect for craftsmanship and the people behind it. By connecting with artisans, students saw the real-world value of creativity and the importance of sustaining cultural heritage.
At Pathways, we believe meaningful learning happens when students connect head, heart, and hand. Experiences like these empower our learners to become thoughtful creators, curious explorers, and appreciative global citizens—one brushstroke at a time.
