Boarders Workshops: Pottery and Art Work Pathways World School, Gurgaon
March 24
The primary girls and boys of Nile and Indus Residence respectively participated in an art activity, where they received assistance from their teachers to create designs using paper cutting. The craftwork scheduled for the day made the students eager to express their creativity and imagination.
It was excellent to see the students' initiative in teaching younger kids. Young Been, from Grade 10, and Yoshi, from Grade 6, took the idea and taught the primary kids of Indus Residence to make buckets from recycled paper cups and rope. Grades 7 and 8 of Nile Residence had an art activity where they received assistance from the VA department to create pottery pieces using clay and techniques learned during the session. Pottery primarily involves giving life to objects through the manipulation of clay.
Learning pottery means learning how to make utilitarian pieces, such as dishes, decorative objects, containers, sculptures, and figurines. The craftwork scheduled for the day made the students eager to express their creativity and imagination, and they successfully used VA equipment to create a variety of clay pieces, such as vases, pots, and bowls.
