On October 10, 2024, the Individuals & Societies and English teams launched the interdisciplinary project-based learning (IDU) unit titled "A Tale of Two Worlds" for MYP 3 in the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH). During the launch, students engaged in a thoughtful analysis of an image and explored Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem, "A Song: Men of England." Through guided discussions and probing questions, the theme of Perspective was introduced, encouraging students to consider various viewpoints on the impacts of colonialism.
Using a choice board, students selected a specific perspective to explore further. Their task is to craft a compelling two-minute monologue based on their chosen perspective. The final monologues, which reflect a deep understanding of the historical and social consequences of colonialism, will be recorded and featured in a broadcast program aimed at educating a wider audience about the lasting effects of this period in history.
The launch marked the beginning of the MYP 3 IDU, where the final product will culminate in the creation and presentation of these insightful monologues.
