Students in MYP4 and 5 took part in an exciting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) program on October 10th that aimed to encourage innovation as well as problem-solving skills. The merging of different disciplines to promote creative thinking and practical applications was the main topic of discussion during the event.
After being exposed to the idea of interdisciplinary learning, students explored the relationships between science and technology, engineering and the arts, and mathematics' support for these fields. Students worked in groups to develop and prototype solutions to real-world problems through hands-on activities. The activities also focused on teamwork, communication, and critical thinking—skills necessary for success in both academic and professional settings.
Student presentations, where they displayed their prototypes and discussed the inspiration behind their designs, brought the session to an end. Students were better prepared for upcoming projects and difficulties in the STEAM fields by attending the event, which not only highlighted classroom topics but also gave them a platform to think creatively and apply their knowledge in a real-world situation.
