TEDxPWS Youth Pathways World School, Gurgaon

On 31st January, Pathways hosted a TEDxPWS Youth event with 5 highly distinguished speakers. The event began with engaging high tea between the faculty and the speakers, accompanied by delicious snacks. The event lasted for over 2 hours, during which numerous distinct topics were explored by the respective speakers.
Mr. Amit Kasliwal, the former corporate leader at Times Group, began the series of discussions as he talked about the power of gaining control over our minds and living a happier life. His insightful words of profound wisdom struck a chord of relatability for all the students who attended the session. His words left students with a more hopeful and optimistic mindset towards not only their academics but also their personal lives.
The next speaker, Mr. Anil Dhir, a distinguished scholar, discussed the importance of understanding one’s history and learning from the mistakes made in the past.
Following him, Mr. Safdar Rahman, a filmmaker, explored the currently booming video content creation industry. Mr. Rahman discussed a variety of educational practices that he has observed and incorporated throughout his career. The concise and relevant exploration of these practices opened the students' minds to new ways of learning in school.
Next, Mr. Supriya Newar, a poet and author, demystified poetry for the audience and explored the world of poetry in an interesting way that left the students with a new appreciation for the art form.
The last speaker, Mr. Gaurav Shorey, gave a powerful presentation on the effects of construction on CO2 emissions. Moreover, the shocking statistics that were revealed on CO2 emissions left the students inspired to act towards a greener future and become better global citizens.
All the TED talks were different and insightful in their own way and conveyed important information for the students at this critical stage of their lives.
