• Sarala Birla Conference inspired by RS IDEALS October 16

Nine students from our school had the remarkable opportunity to attend a nationwide Conference at Sarala Birla Conference in Bangalore, inspired by RS IDEALS. During this event, we delved into the various aspects of leadership and its impact on society. The conference spanned five days, including travel days on both October 16th and October 20th. The three days in between were filled with valuable interactions with fellow delegates, where we explored leadership in different activities.

Our journey began on the first day, with an early morning start for our travel. After planning our schedule for the week, we spent most of the day traveling, combining a 3-hour flight with a 2-hour bus ride before reaching the Sarla Birla Academy, an all-boys boarding school with breathtaking natural surroundings. The school's hospitality committee welcomed us, allowing us an hour to freshen up and explore the captivating campus grounds. Subsequently, all participating schools gathered for an engaging ice-breaking session in the main assembly hall, which effectively dissolved any initial nervousness or tension. Games like "21 Dares" helped us become better acquainted with our fellow delegates, and we ended the day with dinner and bedtime.

The second day was packed with events, beginning with the opening ceremony and baraza sessions. During the opening ceremony, each school was introduced, and we had the privilege of hearing from the principal of the host school and our keynote speaker, Pankaj Rai. Mr. Rai shared anecdotes about his personal experiences with leadership and how it can shape our futures. The conference was officially inaugurated after this. Following the ceremony, delegates were divided into baraza sessions, where insightful and vibrant discussions occurred, focusing on how leadership influences specific aspects of society. These discussions significantly enhanced our understanding of the practical applications of leadership in our daily lives and the future.

The next two and a half days were dedicated to team-building activities designed to explore leadership roles within a team. We engaged in outdoor activities where teamwork and communication were essential to complete seemingly simple tasks that revealed hidden complexities. Additionally, cultural activities, such as the cultural night, art workshop, and theater workshop, allowed us to explore leadership philosophies and principles through collaborative artistry and performance. One of the highlights was the "surprise" DJ night, where all delegates enjoyed dancing and socializing to classic party music.

In conclusion, this experience provided us with enduring memories and invaluable lessons. We gained a deep appreciation for the significance of leadership in various societal aspects and within small teams. We formed lasting friendships that will enable us to reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as we meet again in the future.
