Hindi Diwas

This year, 'Hindi Day' was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Students actively participated in various Hindi Diwas programs, which ran from September 14th for the following 15 days, known as Hindi Fortnight.

Some noteworthy program highlights included senior school students creating presentations on the importance and relevance of Hindi in today's world, which were displayed on bulletin boards for all students to see. Senior school students also engaged in original writing in various Hindi literary genres and shared their creations with the group through display boards.

Language has the power to connect hearts, and on this occasion, both teachers and students remembered the individuals or events that had brought them closer to the Hindi language.

When language is combined with the magic of music, it touches the heart deeply. With the efforts of some students, a group singing program was also organized on September 15th.

Hindi Debate

On September 20th, 2023, the DP (Diploma Programme) community gathered in the AV room for an interhouse debate competition organized by the Hindi MFL (Modern Foreign Language) department. The theme of the debate was 'The Impact of Social Media on Family Relationships and Cultural Bonds.' This event followed the Hindi Divas celebrations that took place the previous week, featuring numerous cultural performances that celebrated our language and heritage. During the interhouse debate, participants had the opportunity to explore and honor their cultural roots while wearing traditional Indian attire.

The competition pitted Air House and Water House in favor of the claim, while Earth House and Fire House opposed it. A panel of judges, comprising teachers from various departments, evaluated each speaker who had two minutes to present their arguments. The quick-witted responses and well-structured speeches from each participant captivated the audience and conveyed a profound message about the significance of preserving our culture and the role of social media in our daily lives.

As the speakers concluded their remarks, the event concluded with a beautiful poem recitation by Ms. Neeru. This performance left a lasting impression on both students and teachers, fostering cultural appreciation within the DP community before they returned to their classes. Overall, the efforts of the Hindi MFL department successfully encouraged DP students to contribute to the preservation of our language and culture, with many students eagerly anticipating future events like this.
