On 17th November 2018, Pathways World School, Gurgaon hosted its first science symposium. This symposium explored the concept of sustainability, conservation and an overall outlook on the environment. All participants partook with great energy and zeal. Every event during the course of the day went by smoothly and both, the students and teachers had a lot to contribute to the discussions.

The morning began with an opening ceremony where everyone was enlightened by the presence of Mr. Krishnendu Bose. Mr. Krishnendu Bose is an environmentalist who contributes everything that he has, to decrease his human carbon footprint and believes that every little change can cause a ripple effect to change the world on a large scale. His words inspired everyone to start thinking about the future and question whether they have a negative or neutral impact to the earth.

After an hour-long interaction with Mr. Bose, all students moved to the confluence for Mr. Guru Charan's special quiz session. The room filled with positivity because of the enthusiastic participation in the inter-house quiz. The quiz tested content about the environment and included interesting activities to enlighten the children's minds about the main meaning of the conference through the tagline; 'from I to we'. Earth house won the quiz, followed by fire house that secured the second position.

Before the day wrapped up, all students and core team members attended the closing ceremony. Mr. Pradeep Sanghwan joined us to bring more grace to the event. His speech left everyone inspired and motivated to finally reduce the use of plastic and drive their friends and family to do the same. T

o end the day on a productive note, the students went for plogging along with Mrs. Sangeeta and Mr. Guru Charan. Plogging is an activity where you jog while picking up litter. This was an enjoyable outing, which taught the students the importance of sustainability and a clean environment. All in all, it was a great experience for the students to learn about all the key note speakers' experiences and, the event was a great success and all students took home lessons that will benefit them lifelong.
