Alekhya: Inter-School Art Fest October 25

Pathways World School, Gurgaon

On 24th October, 2018, the Primary School hosted an Inter-School Art Fest 'Alekhya'. The theme of the Fest was 'Revering Companionship with Animals' where students showed their love and compassion towards animals through creative expressions of Visual Arts.

The Event was comprised of four major activities: creating animal toys inspired by Ancient Art; making incredible masks of animals; canvas painting inspired by famous masterpieces from past and poster making.

Six schools participated, with two students each in every activity from every school. At the end, students displayed their artworks and had a look at the exhibition put-up by our school. The event was wrapped up with certificate distribution and a wonderful group photograph as a take-away.

This year, 'Alekhya' managed to bring together two beautiful traits which are inherent in students; creativity and love for animals.

As part of the 'Culture' unit, PYP 5 students enjoyed a special storytelling session featuring grandmothers of students Siya Shanker and Arjun. Mrs. Madan shared the folktale 'Chandan ka Ped,' highlighting friendship, while Mrs. Shanker narrated 'Shri Krishna aur Kaaliya Naag,' connecting to Janmashtami. The session enriched students' understanding of Indian culture and traditions.
