Teacher– Additional Learning Support (IB MYP & DP) Back
About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IB MYP & DP Additional Learning Support Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure inclusive education practices aligned with the Middle Years Programme & Diploma Programme (MYP & DP) philosophy.
Brief Responsibilities
• Identify and support students with additional learning needs within the MYP & DP framework. • Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and learning accommodations. • Provide targeted one-on-one and small-group interventions. • Collaborate with homeroom teachers to differentiate instruction and assessments. • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and reports. • Conduct assessments and interpret psycho-educational reports. • Work closely with parents to provide regular feedback and strategies for home support. • Participate in Student Support Team (SST) meetings and case conferences. • Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. • Support teachers in implementing inclusive practices and classroom strategies. • Contribute to professional development related to inclusive education.
Requirements
• Strong understanding of ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs. • Knowledge of inclusive education practices within an IB MYP & DP setting (preferred). • Strong classroom management and behaviour support strategies. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to differentiate curriculum and instruction. • Strong documentation and reporting skills. • Empathy, patience, and a student-centred approach. Preferred Qualifications: • B.Ed. in Special Education (Mandatory) • Certification or training related to ADHD, ASD, or Learning Disabilities. • Experience in an IB MYP & DP school (preferred). • Experience using assistive technologies.
