Teacher – English (IB MYP & DP) Back

About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher (IB MYP & DP) to deliver high-quality, inquiry-based instruction in alignment with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The ideal candidate will have strong subject expertise, familiarity with IB assessment standards, and the ability to develop students’ critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills through literature and language studies.

Brief Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning • Plan and deliver engaging, concept-driven lessons aligned with IB MYP and DP English curriculum. • Teach literature, language, and writing skills with an emphasis on inquiry-based learning. • Prepare students for DP examinations and Internal Assessments (IAs). • Guide students in Extended Essays (EE) and research-based projects where applicable. • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and abilities. • Foster critical thinking, creativity, and global perspectives through literature and language study. Assessment & Documentation • Design formative and summative assessments aligned with IB criteria. • Conduct and supervise DP Internal Assessments and ensure IB compliance. • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment documentation. • Participate in moderation and standardisation processes. Collaboration & Contribution • Collaborate with the English department and cross-curricular teams for curriculum planning and vertical alignment. • Participate in IB workshops, professional development sessions, and school initiatives. • Support co-curricular activities such as literary clubs, debates, writing competitions, and performances.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of IB MYP and DP English curriculum and assessment standards. • Expertise in literary analysis, language development, and effective communication strategies. • Ability to teach using inquiry, discussion, and project-based methods. • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Familiarity with digital tools to enhance teaching and learning is preferred. Eligibility Criteria: • Master’s Degree in English / Literature / Linguistics (Mandatory). • Minimum 4–6 years of teaching experience, preferably in IB MYP and DP. • Experience guiding students through DP Internal Assessments and examinations. • IB workshop certifications preferred.
