Head of Department & Teacher – Hindi (IB) Back

About The Role

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Head of Department & Teacher – Hindi to lead the Hindi department across IB programmes (PYP/MYP/DP). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with IB curriculum design, teaching, and assessment, and a proven track record in developing high performing academic teams. This role combines strategic leadership with active teaching responsibilities, fostering excellence in language acquisition, literature, and cultural understanding among students.

Brief Responsibilities

Leadership & Department Management • Lead, mentor, and manage the Hindi department across IB programmes. • Develop and implement a vertically aligned IB Hindi curriculum (PYP/MYP/DP). • Ensure compliance with IB philosophy, standards, and assessment criteria. • Oversee departmental planning, assessment moderation, and documentation. • Conduct professional development and IB training for department staff. • Manage departmental resources, budgeting, and infrastructure planning. • Promote innovation in language instruction and literary programs. Teaching & Learning • Deliver high-quality IB Hindi instruction aligned with MYP and DP frameworks. • Teach language, literature, oral communication, writing, and analytical skills. • Guide students in DP Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, and research projects. • Foster inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, creativity, and cultural appreciation. • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs. Collaboration & Contribution • Collaborate with other language and humanities departments for cross-curricular initiatives. • Participate in IB workshops, professional development, and school leadership activities. • Support co-curricular activities, cultural events, literary clubs, and competitions.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of IB PYP/MYP/DP Hindi curriculum and assessment standards. • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities. • Proficiency in teaching language and literature with inquiry-based pedagogy. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and strategic planning skills. • Ability to integrate digital tools and innovative teaching methods. • Experience in curriculum design, assessment moderation, and academic quality assurance. Eligibility Criteria • Master’s Degree in Hindi / Literature / Linguistics (Mandatory). • Minimum 10–15 years of teaching experience, including substantial IB MYP and DP experience. • Proven leadership experience as HOD or equivalent in an IB school. • Experience guiding students in DP Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, and examinations. • IB workshop certifications preferred.
